Template notice. This document reflects how the app is built. Review it with a qualified professional and tailor it to your jurisdiction before publishing.

Data controller

ArtistLog is operated by the maintainer of the ArtistLog application ("we", "us"). For privacy questions contact artistlog.app@gmail.com. The Service is offered from the European Union (Slovenia).

ArtistLog is built local-first: your data lives on your device by default. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it is stored, and when it leaves your device.

Data stored locally

The core of your data — concerts and events, repertoire and works, venues and tours, your library and offline catalog, gear, attire, finances (fees and earnings), notes, attachments and scanned documents — is stored locally on your device in an on-device database (Isar) and the app's file storage. This data is not transmitted to us and is under your control. There is no cloud database sync of your private library.

Backups

The app can create automatic local backups on your device and optional encrypted exports (`.alog` / `.zip`) protected by a password you choose. Backups stay on your device unless you copy them elsewhere (e.g. cloud drive, USB). We do not host your backups on our servers.

AI processing

AI features — including Smart Fill, Discover stories, and library/insights enrichment — run through Google Vertex AI (via the Firebase AI SDK). When you use them, structured, aggregated input (for example a programme URL, a document, an image you provide, or a composer name) is sent to Google for processing and a result is returned. Only the data needed for the feature is transmitted; your raw private library is not uploaded wholesale.

Classical Brief (news)

The Classical Brief feature fetches RSS feeds and article pages from third-party publishers over the internet. Your device makes network requests to those sources; standard connection metadata (such as IP address) may be processed by those providers and intermediaries. We do not sell this data.

Event QR sharing

You can generate offline QR codes to share selected event metadata with another device. You choose which events to include; attachments are not embedded in the QR payload. Data is transferred directly between devices when the recipient scans the code — not through our servers.

Location

With your permission, the app may access your device location to support features such as travel distance and nearest-venue context. Location is used on-device for these features; granting the permission is optional and can be revoked in your device settings.

Camera, microphone & photos

With your permission, the app may access your camera (to scan scores, documents and QR codes), your microphone (for voice input where offered), and your photo library (to attach images). These are used only for the feature you invoke and are stored locally unless you export a backup or use an AI feature.

Third-party services

International transfers

When you use AI features, data may be processed by Google in the United States or other countries where Google operates. Google provides appropriate safeguards as described in their policies.

No tracking, no ads

ArtistLog contains no advertising, no third-party analytics, and no cross-app tracking SDKs. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not sell your data.

Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Because your library is stored on your device, you can delete it in the app or by removing the app. For questions about AI processing, contact us at artistlog.app@gmail.com.

Children

ArtistLog is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your control

Because data is local-first, you can delete it from the app or your device at any time. Encrypted backups require the password you set; without it, the backup cannot be read.
