Terms of Service

Last updated: 17 June 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ArtistLog application and website ("the Service"). By downloading, installing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Use of the Service

ArtistLog is a personal logbook and productivity tool designed for professional musicians and concertgoers. You may use it for lawful purposes only. You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter, the content you create, import and store, and for keeping your device and backups secure.

2. Your data and content

You retain full ownership of all data and content you add to the Service — concerts, repertoire, gear, financial records, notes and attachments. Because ArtistLog is local-first, your data is stored on your device and is not uploaded to our servers. Encrypted backup exports remain under your control. See our Privacy Policy for full details. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups.

3. AI features

Several features — including Smart Fill, Discover stories, library enrichment, insights summaries and PDF label translation — use Google Vertex AI (via the Firebase AI SDK). When you invoke these features, structured input (such as a concert URL, a document image, a composer name, or aggregated statistics) is sent to Google for processing. Your raw private library is not transmitted wholesale. AI-generated output may be inaccurate, incomplete or mistranslated. You are responsible for verifying any AI-assisted result before relying on it.

4. Informational content and accuracy

ArtistLog displays content sourced from public databases (Wikidata, Wikimedia and similar) and content generated by AI. This includes composer and instrument-maker biographies, catalog data, timeline information, Discover stories and translated labels. All such content is provided for informational purposes only. It may be incomplete, inaccurate, out of date or mistranslated. ArtistLog makes no representations as to its accuracy or completeness. You are solely responsible for verifying any information before relying on it. Nothing in the app constitutes verified academic, scientific, historical or professional fact.

5. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers whose availability and terms are outside our control:

6. Intellectual property

The ArtistLog name, application, website and curated catalog content, excluding your personal data, are owned by us and protected by applicable laws. You may not copy, modify or redistribute the Service or its catalog except as permitted by law.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that data will never be lost. Maintain your own backups.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data or revenue, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
